The rundown on Facebook

I had the pleasure of appearing on Luke Armour's comeback episode of his podcast, The Rundown. Luke works for me here at FH, but I promise you he asked me to appear and I did not coerce him in any way. No, really I swear I didn't.

Luke's been podcasting for some time and it really does show in the production quality of the episode. If you're interested in listening I think you will learn something new. Video week day 1; equipment and software

[Note: If you can't see the video that is right up here ^, don't worry! Just click back to the post and you will be able to see it just fine.]

As I mention in the video I use the built-in camera on my Mac laptop for most of my video work and I use iMovie on the Mac for editing. The reason that I mention Mac is that everything is included out of the box. It's extremely easy to use for beginners and the quality of the end results is fantastic. It's a great setup for the novice and you can easily scale up over time.

I also supplement the video work with an HD camera and a Flip video camera that I take with me on trips and to conferences. My mic is a pretty heavy-duty podcasting rig that runs through an M-Audio USB pre-amp. Stay tuned for more!

T//M podcast #002: A very social conversation

Welcome to episode #002 of the Techno//Marketer podcast. This week's episode features two of my favorite marketing bloggers CK and Drew McLellan. This dynamic duo has (along with Cam Beck, Luc Debaisieux and Mike Sansone) put together the ultimate un-un-conference for marketing bloggers.

Blogger Social 08 is a new type of conference. Basically, take away the boring conference part and leave the relationship-building opportunities and all of the education that goes along with that. Bloggers voted on the location of the event and it turned out that NYC will be the spot (note that I voted for a warmer location) from April 4th - 8th, 2008.

Here is a bit more info from the Blogger-social.com site:

The opportunity to meet—actually meet!—all your friends and colleagues through 3 (amazing!) events, as well as time for you to form your own meetups.

We are planning on:

• A mixer on Friday night (think 7p – 1a)
  
• An event on Saturday afternoon (think 12p – 3p)
  
• And one special event on Saturday evening (7p – until dawn)
  

Friday night and Saturday afternoon events will be casual and Saturday evening will be a bit dressy. Sunday is all free time, giving you extra time to design your own meetups.
