A while back I wrote about Google's call for submissions for a short video promoting their GMail product. Each person had to submit a clip where the GMail icon travelled from one side of the screen to the other in order to patch them all together into one continuous handoff. The concept is old, but the community-powered nature makes it intriguing at the very least.

Is that you in the first scene racing around the office Matt?
As to my earlier comments, any videos of the type they are asking for have to be done by someone with a fair amount of technical prowess. So are they getting amateurs or agencies/wannabes giving it away for free?

TT -- I had to look at that again...what a likeness (or at least all you can tell with the resolution as it is). They are getting people to get involved just to be included with the Google name. Looks like the clips they used ranged from low end consumer to mid-range pro/am. These could have been shot on a $100 Flip camera or a professional HD camera, the web is a great equalizer.
